New to this Forum!
I almost feel like I know some of you. I've read some of the archives. Very informative. Should be mandatory reading for anyone dealing with OSA or any sleep disorder. Wish I had seen this forum before I was diagnosed. Here's my story. I was diagnosed Feb.98, with OSA. I have a Nellcor Puritan-Bennett 318 CPAP with humidifier (not heated.) I use nasal pillows. The masks drove me crazy! Initially I was doing quite well. Then about 3 months ago, the downward spiral. Headaches, sore tired eyes, tired all the time, and crabby! (According to my husband) Also, about 5 years ago I had an allergy workup. I was informed that I was allergic to almost everything indigenous to my hometown. With treatment all symptoms seemed to go away. Still I'm wondering if "they're back!?" My pcp has prescribed Claritin D. I am scheduled for a follow-up sleep study in a few weeks. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Follow-up
I think that you will find that the follow-up sleep study will indicate a need for adjustment. After the adjustment is made, your quality of life should return. I have been fortunate in that my initial titration pressure settings have provided successful treatment for almost six years, but I sense that my sleep quality has been slowly deteriorating, so I am in the process of scheduling another study. I think I will also change clinics, as a sleep clinic has opened about five blocks from my home, as opposed to the sixty-plus miles I have been travelling for check-ups.....
