CPAP buzzes when run on Inverter/battery

I have purchased a Prowatt 250 Inverter by Statpower. I tested it last night, prior to using it for camping. My Remstar cpap by Resperonics, buzzes when hooked up to the Prowatt and that plugged into my battery. It does this even when the Remstar is off but still plugged in. Does anyone know if This will damage my cpap and If the problem is the cpap or the inverter?

Follow-up

It sounds to me like your inverter's AC output (the current that runs your CPAP) is not pure enough or the output voltage could be either high or low. I would measure the inverter output voltage and be sure it's close to 120 volts AC. If that's OK you might want to try a different inverter. It's too bad Remstar quit putting the 12 DC input jack in their unit. My older units both have the 12 DC feature and they work perfectly in the motorhome and the current drain is very acceptable.
