CPAP use in the moving car

Posted by Addydawn on August 22, 2002 at 00:14:39:

I am going on a 6-hour trip and would like to snooze while hubby drives his part. My Remstar LX PLus CPAP has a 12-volt adapter port. Is is OK for me to buy an adapter and plug pappy into the cig lighter? Will that hurt pappy or the car battery?
Over at another site, they said that would be no problem. I am also going to call respironics but I was just wondering if anyone here has tried that. Last thing I want to do is blow out the CPAP!!!
