Chris, I just wanted to say thank you. For me personally, this is the most reassuring post I've ever read on this forum. I am a 22 year old female, debating CPAP after only semi-successful use of an oral appliance. I can completely relate to sawzredwoods' feelings, and what you went through while you were adjusting to CPAP. I have a boyfriend now and he has been very understanding about my oral appliance, but I definitely fear that he won't find me attractive with this big mask on my face. And I fear just as much if things don't work out with him, having to go through it again and again in the future. Chris, it sounds like you found yourself a wonderful woman. I'm sorry it didn't work out for whatever reason, but it's great that she was so understanding about the CPAP. I think most people are more compassionate and understanding than we give them credit for. Everyone has their issues, medical problems, etc., and this just happens to be ours. And like many people pointed out, we would probably have many others if we didn't treat our apnea. It does certainly seem better than the alternative. But I did just want to say that I think it's so important to recognize the emotional aspects that go along with adjusting to CPAP, maybe especially for us younger people. I think some of the posts in response to sawzredwoods' were pretty harsh. This is a really difficult thing for many people to go through and I think we should all be understanding of that. We're here for each other, aren't we? Anyway, Chris, thanks again. I'm glad to know there are people out there who have had the same feelings about this as I do, and glad to know there are people like your ex who are so wonderfully understanding.

Rebecca
