Nasal Aire & noisy air

Posted by Walt on August 22, 2002 at 15:42:54:

Just started using Nasal Aire and it's a great improvement over masks and pillars I've tried before. However, I'm hearing a lot of air flow noise, too much to get used to and it keeps me awake. I suspect it's the little holes opposite the nasal cannulas for exhalation. Innomed suggested checking these ports for obstructions, but they're clean and open. They said excessive air noise wasn't normal. Do other users notice this? It's not just a low rush of air as I would expect - it's loud and I can feel air blowing out. The fittings and nosepiece are snug, so there are no leaks? Any suggestions or feedback? My machine is a REMstar LX and the pressure setting is 8. The noise is less using the ramp feature, but still hard to get used to. Thanks for your interest, Walt
