IPAP/EPAP Differential

Posted by Optimistic on August 22, 2002 at 19:33:27:

When I started with my Bipap 3 weeks ago it was set at 8/6.
After 2 weeks it was changed to 10/6 because I felt starved for air. Now after another week I am again feeling starved for air so it is being change to 12/8.

My question is if the EPAP of 6 was comfortable how come it is being changed to 8. Is there a certain differential that you must have between the IPAP and EPAP? Couldn't it be set to 12/6 or does 12/8 make more sense?
