Nicely done, Rebecca. Some people are rifling off some "do or die" directives, which originate from their own overall state of health and personal harrowing experiences. I can understand CPAP user's zealousness, but I can also relate to your and sawzredwoods' point of view. Sometimes we have to keep in mind that this is a "CPAP" forum and most people are here to support each other in this therapy and share information. I am extremely thankful for this. But this perspective is sometimes carried to the extreme in that some do not recognize the possibility that other alternatives to CPAP may exist and that there are differences in each person's situation (i.e. age, apnea severity, overall health, etc.) It may be that the individuals brought closest to the edge are the loudest and most zealous in their responses on this site--which is understandable. I thank God that, minus my apnea, I am in great health and for now CPAP is helping me stay that way (started 4 months ago). At some point I may venture another type of treatment after consulting with other doctors and those experienced with the alternatives.

Thanks for the added perspective.
