The best medicine

Posted by Steph on August 10, 2002 at 10:46:28:

Last year I was diagnosed with a disorder that I'd never heard of before. I had lost my job, and was feeling like a loser and a weirdo. I found out about the apnea meetings, and waited almost two months to go to the next one. When I showed up, nobody was there - it had been cancled. I was so very disheartened. I turned to the web, and found SLEEPNET!

For the next two weeks, I spent hours reading the old posts. My learning curve was vertical. I was reading things from people who were in the same position. I cried a few times when someone would echo my feelings to a tee. It did my heart good, and I learned so much.

I credit this site with giving me the information to recognize that my sleep clinic was bogus, and I now go to a good sleep clinic with accredited doctors. Instead of having access to only one manufacturer's products through the old clinic, I've found local and web sources to get anything that's on the market.

To Sandman and all who contribute - to say that I'm grateful is only the beginning. I sing your praises to everyone I know, and I feel blessed to be able to contribute now and help others as I have been helped. Thank you thank you! :)
