Back from Spain & My Story

Posted by Nancy on August 17, 2002 at 17:41:07:

Hi everyone - thanks to all your advice, I traveled to Spain and Portugal, staying in several hotels and on a cruise ship, having ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEMS!!! I took everyone's suggestions and it went so smoothly.

My story - even as a teenager, no one could sleep in the same room as me at slumber parties, etc. because of my "horrible snoring." And I thought everyone went through life pulling off the road after work, or before heading home, to take a short nap (they told me it was a "power nap"). Little did I know how much my life could change with the diagnosis and treatment of sleep apnea. I was diagnosed almost four years ago, and used a mouthpiece made by an orthodontist (my brother) for 3 1/2 years. It worked well, but after a while it was no longer effective. So, three months ago, after another sleep study, I was fitted with CPAP - including the F&P HC 220 with built in heated humidifier and nasal aire mask. I also discovered this forum on the same day I got the machine, and at that time the use of the words "nasal aire" were forbidden - so I had trouble getting any information on using this device. Thank you to the few individuals who somehow knew how to use my e-mail address and answer me directly until the ban was lifted. Because of this forum, I got off to a good start, and with continued advice I have become 100% compliant. I love my increased energy!

Thanks again to everyone who has helped along the way, and to Sandman for this forum.
