One year later

Posted by Spence on August 19, 2002 at 06:23:58:

August 8th of last year was my first night on CPAP. I have used it every single night since then.
I went through two mask changes, having found perfection for me with the Breeze. I have thanked my sleep doctor for saving my life.
But one year later, I have not lost the weight I needed to, so I have just been approved for Gastric Bypass surgery. My doctor believes that my sleep apnea was brought on by my weight gain, so we are almost positive that my apnea will dissapear after losing 50 lbs.
I am scheduled for surgery the first week of October. I will report back to this forum of any progress in my improvement of sleep apnea.
This forum has made by journey with sleep apnea much easier and I thank everyone who posted information and comments with heartfelt thanks.
