An update! This long 5 year journey has ended in succes finally! *huuuuuge smile* :-) I went back to the sleep center to get my report...down to 65 apnea's per hour from 70. Sigh. Bad news at the time of course. We both sat there saying nothing. Even the MMA wouldn't work if the apnea's hadn't reduced hardly at all :^( so, I went home determined to somehow make the CPAP work...it was either that or a trache. I tried the first night...my mouth opened again argh!! So, I went looking around the house for an idea of a chin strap that would be easy to use. I opened a drawer and there was an ace bandage. I took it around my head - and made it fairly tight...measured it, and sewed it. I went to bed and put this around my neck before putting the mask on. I pulled it around my head...placing it over my mouth as well and the chin area and went to sleep. It worked! I'm not sleepy any more...I'm very grateful for a solution finally! The chin straps I had used didn't fit very well over the lips at the same time it wouldn't fit around my head. I think the stretchiness of the ace is the key to this working :-)
