Sounds to me like you're doing fine.

I have an AutoAdjustLT and keep mine a little more limited - 6 to 9. But the reason I do that is that otherwise mine ramps up occasionally and wakes me. I would rather not have it shoot up. The result is I run an AHI or about 3 most nights, with 0 apnea. So, for me, having the higher number up at 20 would not help.

Perry has written extensively on this (you can do a search on his name). I think the general concensus is that having a more narrow range lets the machine react faster when necessary. But to me that suggest having the lower range close to where you usually need it to be, and you are already doing that.

I can't see much reason to limit the top of the range unless, like me, you occasionally find the machine ramps up higher than needed or than you like (I think in my case it was an artifact of the software reacting to small leaks, not a real need to address apnea.)

The machine and the software are pretty sophisticated, in my opinion, but it is still a small computer reacting in real time to a complex set of inputs, and I don't expect it to be perfect.

I strongly encourage you to get a copy of the software for the machine, so you can monitor your own use of the machine.

From your AHIs it sound to me as though you are doing fine. How do you feel??

Aloha,
Bob
