Sounds like you need a heated humidifier, pronto. This dryness is not the result of codine, but the cpap machine. Pain will reduce your sleep so you need pain medication as well as other treatment.

Cpap can be adjusted in pressure to compensate for any effects of drugs or alcohol, its a simple device, it just props open your airway with pressure. Worst case a completely collapsed airway, can still be opened with normal levels of cpap pressure.
