I have no doubt that there is a link between bipolar and sleep apnea. But then again, I surmise there is a link between many mental health disorders and sleep disorders.
He needs to be careful about the meds. Many produce a state of lethargy and fatigue.
Believe it or not, what you describe as "the world is wrong and I am right" mood can also occur in the manic state.
You may notice more of the manic state now that he is less sleep deprived.
