Posted by sleepyhead on September 30, 2002 at 01:12:09:I see that Fisher & Paykel has introduced an Oral CPAP Delivery mask named the Oracle.
As a confirmed mouth breather, this looks like the answer to my dreams. I have been trying to get used to cpap and nasal breathing - with almost no success. I'm using heated humidification, the breeze a nasal pillow, and medication to shrink nasal swelling. Still, nose breathing feels unnatural.
So the questions
1. Are oral masks as effective as nasal masks?
2. Are thre any significant problems with using oral masks (with heated humidification)?
