Actually, the older people get, the harder it is to sleep solidly through the night. It could be your normal sleep cycle, or just a habit your body has gotten into. Waking up after each sleep cycle is normal. Sometimes we remember waking up, and other times not. Being annoyed or stressed at having woken up can actually keep us from falling asleep again. You mentioned 3:30am feeding - are you eating in the middle of the night? That actually can keep you up, because digestion is a "wakeful" activity for your body. Check out "The Promise of Sleep". It goes into everything, and has a "workshop" of sorts to help people into good sleep hygiene.
