You did not state what type of surgery? I agree that all non-surgical options should be tried first. My ENT did find that I have really narrow nasal passages. I tried the cpap, but found that I had difficulty breathing in. Even with a heated humidifier, I had a hard time getting enough air. I used a Breath Right nasal strip with my mask and the effects were outstanding. It pulls open my nasal passages much more. I am going to have the turbinectomy procedure next Friday to make my nasal passages more open. The Breath Right strip tends to irritate my nose or I would probably coninue to use that. It's getting hard to cover that red spot with makeup!! Good Luck and do look at the non-cpap related forum for more answers about surgical procedures.
