Posted by D. H. on October 18, 2002 at 03:21:17:My sleep doc told me that Bi-PAP is generally recommended if one's prescription exceeds 15. My prescription - which was 11 in 1999 - has crept up to 15. If it creeps any higher, this means they'll try to put me on Bi-PAP(?).
I'm wondering why they would want to do this even if I'm not having problems exhaling. I'm adjusted to CPAP, and might be bothered by the fluctuation.
Also, perhaps there's a difference between a new CPAP user, and a seasoned user who's prescription has crept up above 15.
