I could not adapt to bi-pap. The theory of the machine is pretty sound if you have a fairly normal breathing pattern. I don't. I randomly have a few short shallow breaths or will have a few random deep breaths that would through me and the machine out of sync. I would try and exhale while the pressure is ramping up. This would wake me up. But hey, I couldn't breathe against the pressure of cpap either. If it "ain't broke, don't fix it".
