It sounds like you might benefit from a BiPAP but don't necessarily need one; though I am shocked that they would prescribe a BiPAP without having first tested you on it.

The AutoPap might work in that if your Rx'd pressure is 10, you probably only actually need that pressure for about twenty percent of the night and the AutoPap might be at 7 or 8 for much of the night. These may well be pressures you will be able to tolerate.

Also, even with a cpap at 10,,,its not particularly high and others have learned how to exhale against that airstream, so you can too if you really have to.
