I agree with Fog, 10 cm is not a very high pressure. The pain or discomfort you experienced was probably caused by your muscles having to work a little bit more to exhale against the air delivered by the cpap. If you will give it a couple of weeks to a month, I would expect that the muscles you use to exhale will strengthen and you will probably not even feel the pressure or any discomfort from breathing against it. May not even need an autopap.
