Snorting soon after awakening. Why?

Posted by fog on October 18, 2002 at 13:05:12:

After about four hours of cpap at 17 with a heated, insulated humidifier, I find that I wake up and can clear the nasal passages by 'snorting', but then despite the cpap and nose now being each in working order, I have difficulty getting back to sleep.

Should I increase the humidifier's setting or is it the condensation of the humid air that is causing the accumulation in the passages and would I therefore be better off lowering the humidifier? I really have to something to get past this "4 hour" mark.
