I too had the problem with exhaling and it did not go away. Finally I did end up with a BiPap, it ended up that I had central apnea also. The BiPap has been wonderful for me.

I kept going back for more sleep studies until they got everything right, mostly because until the last study I had, I would never sleep enough (or like I slept at home) to get the proper results.

So, anyway, not everyone with an exhalation problem with a CPAP finds that it goes away.
