Sorry to hear that it took you so long to get your sleep test. I am also in Canada and I got a sleep test within a matter of weeks of being referred and had my CPAP the next day. I think sometimes it's the doctor that is the problem.

Anyway, I have not had problems adjusting to the CPAP either. I even thought I would, but it has been pretty smooth. Choosing a mask was a problem until I found NasalAire, but that happened quickly as well.

As for staying in one position, it's possible that you just think you are. During my last sleep test I started out sleeping on my side, propped with pillows and I woke up in exactly the same position. When they told me I had the most problems when I slept on my back or on my other side I didn't believe that I could have moved without knowing it until I saw the printout. I would have SWORN that I hadn't moved all night. But I have heard that people sometimes do move less when they are wearing their headgear, since it is a little more difficult to thrash around. But if your sleep is less disturbed you're less apt to thrash anyway.

Congratulations. You're on your way to better health from the sounds of things.
