Needing CPAP guidance

Posted by Ben on November 07, 2002 at 13:55:59:

I went for sleep testing last month and (as expected), I was diagnosed with sleep apnea. They told me I was getting only 51% blood oxygen during sleep. Finally today, the company appointed by my insurance contacted me that they have my mask and CPAP ready to come over. I asked about the equipment they have and they told me I would be getting a Horizon DeVilbiss 9000D. As I have seen it, this seems like a bottom of the line CPAP machine. Am I wrong? Has anybody had any luck getting the insurance company either pay or partially pay for a better unit? In the research I have done on features, I figured I would like a unit with auto on/off, maybe a SMART/adjusting feature, compact for travel and perhaps with humidifier addition. In the websites I have been to so far, I haven't seen an unit with the above features all-in-one. Can anybody recommend to me a unit that has some or all of the above features and maybe I discuss upgrading with the insurance company.
Thanks!
