Until you can get in for the sleep study, I would try and find out as much as you can about the various sleep disorders. Try practicing good sleep hygiene, for information go to the Insomnia button on this web site's home page and then click on the link for sleep tips. This may help you diagnose "other" things that may be going on.

You also may want to keep a sleep diary of your sleep habits. Note what time you go to bed, wake up in the morning, if you woke during the night, if you had caffeine, took medications, etc. and so on. A search on some of the sleep disorder websites should provide an example of a sleep diary format. This information will be really helpful for the sleep lab to diagnose your problem.
