You can train yourself not to turn your head toward him while you sleep. When you go to bed, just remind yourself that he is beside you and that you are not going to turn your head toward him during the night. Also, have him promise that if you do turn your head toward him that he will stay in bed, but will wake you up to make you turn your head away from him. This may take some time to train yourself, but keep with it and it will work (and keep reminding him that you are trying).
