You could also try to fabricate an attachment that would shunt the exhaust air down toward your legs. I picture a semi-dome very carefully fastened over the exhaust hole(s). It would therefore be open at the bottom and rather cavernous so as not to restrict air flow.

Once again you would have to be **EXTREMELY** careful not to restrict any air flow.
