Some of us are so desperate, we really do not care if there is great risk involved!

But there really is not. Those who use tape with tabs at the ends really do so for convenience not emergencies.

Those who wrap ace-bandages around themselves as if they were mummies, do so out of desperation. I doubt the danger is anywhere near as great as you seem to think that it is, but even if it were...its worth it to us desperate souls.
