Glad the machine's noise isn't so loud that it's keeping you awake.
Yeah, I don't like using the ramp on mine either.
Hearing the whistle change as the machines slows down during shutoff is a good clue. At least it's probably not something loose or broken in the machine if the noise doesn't change when you tip the machine.
Is your filter is getting clogged? Will your machine run without it to confirm if the filter is making or causing the noise?
Does the delivered pressure seem lower? Maybe an internal duct or hose has developed a small noisy leak.
If the machine is old enough, the blower motor bearings may be squealing. How many hours of use does the unit have on it? Does it offer that information?Sounds like you're on the right track by arranging to get it looked at.
