No you shouldn't be treated this way! Not by your doc, and not by the DME provider.

I'm sure others with BIPAP experience will have a lot of useful info specific to that type of equipment, but it seems to me that cutting off your air supply in response to breathing deeply and coughing are NOT normal for any PAP device!!

What make and model is the machine? How long have you had it? Did it do that from day one?

I would think you should report this and insist that Medicaid assist you in demanding a replacement unit from the provider.

Perhaps customer service at the manufacturer can help you, if for example they say, yes, that model needs a software upgrade, or a settings change, etc?
