New CPAP User's Question?

Posted by Kryan1066 on November 09, 2002 at 16:08:55:

Hi. I just got my CPAP yesterday and have a question. I had a hard time sleeping because I couldn't keep my mouth shut. I was even prescibed a chinstrap (a la Marley's ghost) to keep my jaw from hanging open, but I can still part my lips, and air escapes. I must've woken up about 15-20 times last night because of this. Will I eventually get over this? Will my brain get the idea, or will I have to try and get the full face mask? Are there any folks here who use the full face mask? What are the drawbacks of it? Thanks.

KRyan
