Before finding out I had a deviated septum blocking air flow in one nostril, the doctor gave me a spray called FLONASE. This is a presciption nasal spray that clears your nose so you can breathe through your nose. Also effective to a certain extent are the athletic nasal strips called BREATHE RIGHT that keep your nostrils open somewhat.
