I have been on CPAP now for 10 years. Yes, I am
not crazy about using the machine. I also can
not even take a quick doze after dinner on the
couch without choking and waking up. This is the
cards I was dealt. It is better than cancer, heart
problems, etc, etc. Everybody on earth is going to
have something go wrong with them. At least I have
something that doesn't require operations or tak-
ing 7-8 medications per day that foul up your body
with side effects. My problem can be corrected and
the cure is not worse than the problem.
Remember, you are not the only one with this problem. You can lead a productive and effective life. There are so many people worse off than you
are- just watch some of the TV programs.

Hang in there and tell yourself (like I do)that
there are others worse off and at least I have a
machine that can solve my problem. You will get
used to having the CPAP around- others have, and
it will ultimately become your security blanket.
I can't imagine going anywhere now without my CPAP.
