I have ringing in my left ear too - tinnitus. It started before I began using CPAP. I went to see an ENT Dr. and he did a hearing test. Said that I have high frequency hearing loss in that left ear. Doc said that what is happening to me is my ear is trying to decipher sound and sort of goes haywire. The CPAP doesn't bother my ears. I use a ResMed lightweight. For a while I tested out a DeVilbliss CPAP and that had a high pitch wine. That pitch is the type that can irritate my tinnitus. I also think stress irritates it. I feel for what you are going through.
