I too now find it impossible to get a good nights sleep if I do not use my cpap. I have only been on it since Sept. I had problems getting to sleep on Sat and instead of trashing my husband's sleep, I went downstairs to sleep in the guest room. I did eventually fall asleep, but I kept waking up startled, feeling like I could not breathe. I know I should have taken my machine with me, but at the time I did not feel like unplugging the thing and moving it. Maybe I need to invest in one for downstairs...lol! I think maybe we do get dependent in this machine, but I am not sure it is such a bad thing. I sleep better now than I ever realized I could...and my problem is not weight or exercise related. I just have sleep apnea. Doctors kept throwing pills at me for depression until one finally realized that I might have sleep apnea. Now, with a doctors approval, I am slowly coming off my depression meds and hopefully will find that I do not need them anymore.
Good luck y'all!
