Please be grateful that the doctor has suspected the sleep apnea and plans to check for it. As a semi driver, your husband could be at high risk for a serious accident if he really does have sleep apnea and it goes untreated. If your husband has sleep apnea, it can be treated, but not cured. I am a zillion times better since my treatment started about 5 months ago. It has taken some adjustment, but everything has been WELL worth the hassle and trouble. My life has profoundly changed since diagnosis and ironing out the wrinkles of CPAP treament. Look through this website for all of the information you can get, and be as supportive as possible to your husband.
