I do enjoy your posts very much, SGS. And since I'm neither a health-care worker or a medical researcher, I find your highly-informed posts very educational. Thanks for all the fantastic information and thoughts you send our way!

On the thought-provoking subject of Parrots and speech, however: I would think the very complexity of our speech-related mechanisms is what makes us more inclined to experience speech-mechanism failures---including apnea. No??? A parrot may mimick our speech, but the parrot's biological implementation to perform that speech is so much simpler and thus less failure prone.

As to apneas and English Bull Dogs, well that's as entirely different story! I know that English dogs are allowed to enter pubs with their owners to this day. I also know when we humans drink in excess how much worse our speech and apneas become. And, well, English Bull Dogs being English Bull Dogs.... You get my jist! ;-)
