CPAP Died

Posted by tomjax on December 02, 2002 at 17:51:26:

My faithful and dependable companion of the past several years died last week. It was not unexpected since my companion had been making unusual noises during the night.

Fortunately, I had anticipated the inevitable and arranged to have another on standby. The new companion is a bit louder than the old faithful, but i am adapting.

I also arranged to get a new companion and it should be here this week.

I think 7+ years is pretty good for a remstar choice. After talking to cpap man I requested my dme order a DeVilbiss 9001 D. Looking forward to it.

My PCP wrote a new rx and i did not have to have a sleep study.

One thing I did notice was that when it was clear the end was near, i checked the pressure by immersing hose in water and noticed it was abt 13.8 when the setting was supposed to be 12. The replacement is on 12.
I had been having very bad case of dry mouth on the higher setting, but not on the properly set one.
Coincidence? Could dry mouth be a result of higher pressure?
