Here's my experience, for what its worth. I had two somnoplastys (one on tongue, one on the roof on my upper palate), a septoplasty, and sinus surgery. After the two somnos and the septo, my RDI dropped from 12 to just under 5. I still have to use cpap because I still have apneas during REM sleep. Out of all those procedures, the septoplasty was the one I feel was the most bang for the buck! It not only helped my cpap be more effective but it feels great to breathe freely through my nose, again!! I'm not sure any surgery will totally cure apnea, especially since studies are no showing that parts of the brain may be involved with our dilemma. I'd recommend the septo, however, because it something I would benefit from even if I didn't have apnea issues!!

Good luck!
Kevin
