Some time in the past I read a study that pointed out that heated humidification reduced the tendancy to mouth breath, and reduced the resultant dryness when mouth breathing occured.
The use of a full face mask also reduced the effects of mouth breathing, except the mouth dryness. The use of a heated humidifier had no effect on mouth dryness when a full face mask was used.
If you can control your mouth breathing with a good chinstrap in conjunction with a heated humidifier, your comfort leverls should increase considerably.
It is interesting to note that in a large population the increased compliance you gain through the use of a full face mask, is lost through decreased usage due to discomfort.
