I agree with you on the benefits of the HC-201. However, F&P do not yet make an autoPAP, which I've found really important.

I also agree about not putting a CPAP with checked baggage. I never do, and have never experienced problems in taking it on as carry-on. But I do pack the humidifier in my suitcase. I reason that I could do without the humidifier for a few days without too many problems, and it lightens the carry-on load a bit.

Unfortunately in this case there were two separate thefts. I guess I was an "innocent abroad". Either that, or the level of attention and care required for safe travelling in most countries needs to be bumped up a notch or two when travelling in France. I couldn't imagine similar thefts occurring in Japan or Norway, for example.
