Hi Lauralee-- still having problems with your
VPAP II ST! Sorry to hear that. Well let's see if
I can help. As you know, I have the identical mac-
hine.
1. Your machine is very expensive and sophisticated- not many prople have it.
2. Your DME probably is not capable of properly
setting the machine- I know mine isn't.
3. I have to get a little technical-but I will ex-
plain. Your VPAP has several settings-----
MODE- S/T
IPAP- ( inhalation pressure, mine is 11.)
EPAP- (exhalation pressure, mine is 6
The IPAP and EPAP are the pressures prescribed by your doctor. The other settings can be adjusted to
fit your needs and are NOT set by the doctor.
IPAP max- (this is the timing set for you to in- hale. If you find you can not breathe in long
enough, then you have to reset to a larger num-
ber. Mine is set at 2.0
-/- ( looks like S- mine is set at 150. Not sure what this means.)
BPM- set at 10
I:E- set at 33%
My guess is that you are having problems with your
IPAP. My suggestion is to call Resmed Technical
Support/ customer support at the number in
your booklet and explain the problem. If they can
help, I would recommend you go to your DME and tell them you talked with Resmed and they should
call them to adjust your VPAP. I don't think we
can adjust ourselves. At least, I don't know how.

My best advice to you- recognize your DME can not
solve your problem. There are not many of these
state-of-the-art machines around and only practice
makes perfect. Take the direct approach, talk to
the manufacturer, they are the experts. Let me
know how you make out. Good luck and hang in there.
