I'm not a doctor, but... Defects in your nasal breathing can make it more difficult for CPAP to work. Many people that get their septum fixed say things like 'I never knew how poorly I breathed until I got my septum fixed and started breathing well' and 'Getting my nasal breathing fixed made CPAP so much easier to use. The pressure I needed was lower and mouth breathing issues went away.'
