My insurance pays for replacements every 6 months, but at a 50% copay. My DME has suggested that I get new hoses and perhaps a spare mask to have on hand in case of a problem and because I travel. Or I might get a full face mask in the next cycle so I have one in case I get sick and can't breathe through my nose. But I don't see why you would get new equipment "just because".
