Sleep Disordered Breathing is the term used to cover the whole spectrum from snoring to OSA. Someone with UARS can feel just as bad as someone with severe OSA. Someone with an RDI of 12 can feel just as bad as someone with an RDI of 80.

Having an RDI even lower than 5 is still associated with increased risks of hypertension.

Current thinking is that a sleep period of less than 5 minutes will have any restorative power. An RDI of 12 will result in an arousal every 5 minutes, so even "mild" apneics may not ever feel refreshed.
