I also have Cigna/Apria until Jan 1, 2003. They denied my claim for a heated humidifier, which my ENT and I are fighting. The denial letter stated that they wanted me to use a passive humidifier for 60 days first. I have a REM-Star plus with the attached humidifier. I tried it several nights with just water, no heat. It did absolutely nothing for me...felt like I had no humidification at all. I have been calling them everyday and will continue to do so until they approve my claim. All I can say to y'all is keep up the fight, it is time the ins companies stopped telling our doctors how to treat us.
