The problem has been diminishing (after 3 weeks on CPAP) so I am hoping not to have to go to a strap. My cheeks don't really inflate, the air just passes through my lips. And yes, if my mouth is open my airway is not fully open.
Mainly I was looking for confirmation that air occasionally bypassing the tongue and through the lips is not the same as "mouth breathing."
