You will agree that it is a statistic worth having whether it is 20% or 80%. We are learning everyday that many of our health problems are either caused or at least aggravated by obesity. Many heart problems, high blood pressure, diabetes, pulmonary problems are examples. We can't do anything about genetics but we can do something about weight but no one seems to be particularly interested in this subject. I think many of us are in denial about weight because we want the magic pill or cure that fixes the problem overnight (no pun intended) rather the long hard work that is involved in losing weight and getting in shape (two very different things). We don't want the Dr. to say go out and lose weight; we want a pill or a hose. In any event, it would be worthwhile knowing if none, few or many of us should be focusing on this unpopular treatment.
