I think you have missed the entire point of what UARS is. If your pressure is too low you will have UARS. You are saying that setting the pressure too high caused UARS or SBD. Wrong, the pressure has to be too low to be experiencing UARS or SDB. I think you may want to think twice about setting the pressure yourself. I would use what I was prescribed and if you feel that it isn't working then talk to the doc that you saw and see what he thinks you should do. I would bet 4-5cm is lower than what you need but I have not seen your study and would not recommend any pressure with the information you have provided.
